Church Planter
(Two year commitment) 2006 to 2008
Oak Hills Church, Clovis, CA – met in school multi-purpose building
Co- pastor in
a church planting venture
-
Church Administrator: Helped start a new work that grew to
about 200 in under two years. About 3 months before stepping
down God began to reenergize my vision since losing my son Jeff
and began to fill me with renewed strength to pastor again. My
son Jeff loved the people at Salem and would be pleased if I
returned. I as well as my family and daughter and her family all
desire to return to Sanger and minister to the people that we
love and who love us.

Community Life
Pastor |

The Bridge
Evangelical Free Church, Fresno, CA -
-
Ministry Assignment:
Assimilation, Membership, Adult Small Groups, Hospitality,
Celebrate Recovery, Stephen Ministry, Family Counseling,
Weddings/Funerals, Deacon Leadership, Max Access (Disability)
Angel Food, Oil Change Ministry
-
Developed an assimilation process called “Starting Point”. A
fresh PowerPoint presentation to interview candidates for
membership. Candidates were asked to select a ministry
assignment on a trial basis and choose a small group. Once
candidates were brought into membership, they were divided into
three categories depending on spiritual maturity and followed
for one year.
-
Adult Small Groups: Presently about 20 groups. Now reformulating
into “LifeGROUPS” based on interests (fishing, golf,
scrap-booking, as well as service oriented groups). “LifeGROUPS”
do not replace existing small groups, but to serve as “fishing
pools” for believers. “LifeGROUPS” are sermon based and open.
The pre-saved are comfortable attending. A group can be as small
as three to more than 100. This is an exciting new approach to
small groups.
-
Hospitality: Community training to “be aware of one another” the
moment you step out of your car until you return to your car
following the service. For a church to be considered friendly,
it must be friendly. Plans include: a parking team, escort team,
centralized coffee/snack bar.
-
Celebrate Recovery: A new ministry where a team of 45 were
trained and assigned a place of ministry.
-
Stephen Ministry: Attended six day training for training. We
assigned ourselves a task list to begin this ministry.
-
Family Counseling: Twenty couples/singles were on a counseling
cycle. In order to handle the load, I spread appointments out
from 2-4 weeks and gave assignments.
-
Deacon Leadership
-
Ten days after I was hired at The Bridge we lost our twenty-five
year old son, Jeff.
I left the Bridge after five months because I and my family
needed time to recover our loss and grieve rather than lead a
large multi-faceted ministry.

Crocker
Insurance, Fresno, CA -
-
After 28 years in ministry I felt like Jeremiah needing a cave
to rest. I worked as an insurance broker primarily
helping seniors with health insurance. I practiced Christian
ethics regarding honesty and integrity and my business therefore
grew from referrals. However, ministry was always my passion.
With the counsel of friends, I re-entered His service with
renewed enthusiasm.
